After installing the
Martz
Chassis Independent Front Suspension, we are ready to install our Martz
Chassis Rear Mini-tub Kit.
1. The face front of the
coilover
bracket to the rear face of the front crossmember is 25½"
The front crossmember
bolts
to the original sub frame spring pocket mounting holes then is welded
into
place.

Bolt the unibody using the
original spring pocket holes and completely weld the crossmember in
place.

We use a square jig clamped
to the housing brackets to keep them straight and square. Place the
brakcets
25½" apart and weld ¼" at a time, let the housing cool
between
welds to prevent the housing from warping.

2. Measure back 25½"
from the front crossmember you have installed. You need to cut
approximately
an 8" access hole in the front of the trunk for the rear crossmember.
We
trimmed this area and saved the gas tank mounting strap brackets.

We then installed a sheet
metal cover in the trunk area

3. We then welded in a
sheet
metal strip and filled in the sides. This allowed us to install 18' x
10"
wheels with 295 ZR 18 tires.

On this 1969 convertable we
could only go in approximately 1½" to allow the top to work.

4. After the front and rear
suspension kits were installed we made frame connectors to attach the
front
to the rear.

2" slots were cut in the
rear
floor section to install the frame connectors. Everything was then
welded
in place.

All done!
